Yes and no, sometimes it is just knowledge that is missing, like how to deal with the many situations that happen in life. Most failures are easily turned around if you learn when and how and why, you failed, thus they are turned into learning experiences. What destroys one person only helps another to learn – depending on how your able to view reality. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to life.
For most public, I reckon they do not delight in life since they set their hopes and dreams too low – thus there is nothing to strive for. Sort of like – with plans like those… no wonder you lost the wonder in life. This may or may not be your situation, but it is a lot of public’s problems.
Happiness is being able to set goals and reach them. What most public confuse as happines is some sort of sense delight.
There are many self help books and motivational books – I would start there to learn about how to motivate yourself.
Best of Life to you.
welcome to the possible real diagnoses of depression. sounds like you have what is call dysthemia. i major depressive disorder. if your medicine didn’t work you should have told your doctor so he could switch it. sometimes we don’t get the right meds at first. keep trying. *******? please don’t do it and really need to contact family doctor or go to the the er. you can get quicker treatment there. its a long road but i promise you will get there and feel fantastic with the right treatment. don’t give up. god doesn’t give us things we cant handle. only to make us stronger and better. i promise.
A personality disorder is a consistent problem in interacting with public. There is depressive personality disorder. Does this significantly interefere with your relationships? Are you constantly negative to other public and constantly argumentative? If so you may have a personality disorder.
It sounds like dysthymia to me a constant low mood often lasting for years but generally this low mood is not terrible sufficient to be considered clinical depression. I would see a counselor. I would try cutting sugars like soda and white bread/white pasta out of your diet. Eat whole grains, plenty of Omega three fatty acids and vegetables/fruits. Also exercise everyday even if you do not feel like it. Perferably exercise with other public like try a team sport or join a gym. If a excellent diet and exercise do not help after eight weeks then you will want to deliberate saint johns wart or anti-depressants. Never take saint johns with anti-depressants. Excellent luck.
Perhaps you need to look at your childhood and what you were sad about. They say that depression is “rage turned inwards”. Were you abused, ill-treated, traumatised or experienced fantastic loss in some way as a child? Keep in mind that things we adults would take in our stride can be overwhelming or seem life-threatening to a child. And there will be long-term emotional effects even if we then block, not remember or repress those childhood feelings.
Drinking and overeating are both ways to numb one’s emotional pain. I reckon you may need to know the source of that pain before you can try to heal it.
Have you been to many different counselors or just one? Keep trying them out till you find one you tell to .. it’s a bit like shopping for clothes with the size-marks cut off .. you’ve got to try them out to know for sure if they fit for you!
In my experience the most helpful ones have been therapists who practise CBT or Transactional Breakdown (CBT is cognitive behavioural therapy).
Perhaps if you work on reducing fatigue and increasing your energy, that might help some. Try drinking plenty of water, eating fresh fruit and veg, breathing and stretching exercises, go for walks in the fresh air, and get about 7 to 8 hrs sleep. Oversleeping can make you feel just as tired if not more, than insomnia. There are lots of simple things you can, mostly with your lifestyle, to reduce the impact of your depression and feel better about life.
Ordinarily if you or anyone else is sad for over a long period of time non stop it is ordinarily considered depression. I’ve been there and done it. If you’ve had to take medicine for it, it possibly could be depression. Find out your diagnoses. You can find plenty of places to find help at. Look on the Internet or even in a buzz book. It’s terrible that you had a drinking problem, since that worsens it. Especially over eaten, since those depressed eat to make themselves feel excellent and as comfort food. You shall overcome it all, only if you want to.
