Jett qυеѕtіοnеd:

Please bе curteous, I dο nοt want tο give reasons fοr mу past tаlе tο уου. I suffered frοm severe clinical depression fοr near three years, аnd wіll never bе fully cured. Wіth therapy аnd medication over years I hаνе gotten tο thе top whеrе I саn feel again. Feel pain, feel happyness, аnу emotion іѕ lіkе Heaven compared tο nothingness. I became ѕο physically sick thаt mу body ѕtаrtеd tο eat itself, I wаѕ down tο 5’11 130 pounds аt a top ( I wаѕ 5’11 170.)

I never want tο nοt remember thе pain I felt οr thе strength іt took tο keep tender οn. Arе thеrе аnу designs thаt symbolize thеѕе events?
Thank уου аll, I rесkοn I wіll gеt a friend tο draw mу phoenix thουght.

Get a tattoo with a syringe penetrating your skin. That would be sooo awesome.

    Hi Jett…….
    what about a bird?
it shows that you can glide and choose to land anytime u want to!
place ur head up high and delight in the world

I have a butterfly tattoed, it reminds me that even tough things can be rough sometimes we grow up and eventually learn to deal with the things that we once couldn’t, I mean life changes and hopefully so do you. It takes a lot of strength to get yourself collectively and go on. o me it simbolises the opportunity to be something else, to learn and grow.

all that matters is what it means to YOU you could get something very literal or you could get something that just has specific meaning to you and you alone. i guess you could get a heart with cuts and bruises and scars and a bandaid on it to remind you that you can and will heal. or you could get a remote control (like for the t.v.) to represent having control over your life again. you could get a tattoo of a monster to represent the disease that had you for so long or a monster in a cage. the possibilities are really endless. you just need to choose what means the most to you.

also i suggest finding a custom tattoo artist. research artists and find one that will suit your needs and that will give you the best tattoo possible. don’t just settle for the first person you see.

How about the Phoenix since it rose from ashes and the sun in the social class?

The suggestions public have not more than are really excellent. How about something that is on your foot or starts on your foot and goes up your leg to represent being at a low spot and then making your way back up to where you are now. Like a tribal vine of sorts or something like that.

Congratulations. You have obviously worked very hard to overcome some major issues in your life.
I tend to agree with the Phoenix suggestion. The phoenix died and then arose from the ashes to live another life.
I have 2 tattoo’s. Both of them are of winged creatures. One is a Pegasus and the other a Haida Raven. To me they signify my ability to pull myself back up when I feel I am sinking down.
Find what means something to you. Perhaps spend a bit of time researching some mythological creatures. You may find one that really inspires you and feels like it fits with you. You’ll know what you want when you find it. It’ll grab you and you won’t get it out of your mind till it’s inked on you.

“Sink or Swim”. —I have went through many hard times and thats all it comes down to. Life can be tough at times but when it comes down to it you have 2 options, give up or keep going on to see better days.

Sorry I can’t be more help, but with out details, it’s hard to go into to many suggestions. Your tat should mean something to you. Reckon about what has helped you over come and all along the road. It should be something from your heart. Excellent luck in all you do and keep your head high.

I have had similar issues with depression since of childhood issues. I had a grim reaper – symbolizes to me where I have been – but he has a rose in his mouth – symbolizing new beginnings.. You can never not remember where you have been – he is a constant reminder for me that I have been in the darkness but have made it out…

Honestly, it’s something to need to choose for yourself but I reckon a pheonix would be ideal for your situation. It embodies the death and rebirth that you experience surrounded by the cycles of battling and continuing to battle your depression. It’s a symbol of undying strength to carry on no matter what comes at you, to survive, to prevail. I reckon it would be a lovely symbolization of what you are going through and incidently, would make one helluva gorgeous piece of art. I reckon it would be something you would be able to draw strength from and never regret.

Best of luck to you and please let me know what you choose on.

i too have been sick for 3 years.post traumatic stress disorder, major depression, anxiety disorder relating to my husbands *******.oh my god i know what you mean about the pain, the hopelessness,i met a man in therapy and he brought sunshine into my life again.the tat i am getting to sybolize my overcoming literally walking dead is a gorgeous butterfly.I know that is not masculine sufficient for a man but how about a majestic eagle.flying high.

  • Kimi says:

I reckon a dove would be fantastic. I want to get a small one on the palm of my hand. My cousin has a cross on her hand. I reckon the dove would be excellent for you. Symbolizing peace and you tender on from the past. Excellent luck with your depression.

If there was any object or person that you could always turn to, or a phrase that you kept telling yourself over and over when things were terrible then perhaps you can get an thought in your head about something that would symbolize any of those; it may be the object/person/phrase itself.

I’ve gone through a lot and had similar obstacles, and during therapy, I was supposed to sort through my memories for a pleased one; perhaps you can use that.

Maybe you’d gone through visualization therapy and one of those could be the embodiment of dep/suicide and you can have it caged.

Or a clasping of hands to symbolize someone helping you, so you know you aren’t alone, no matter what, and there’re places to go, public to see if you’re going through a rough patch again.

I hope you find your way. Peace and like be with you and yours.
