I know that Joyce Myers has a book on depression and I can't think of the guy's name that appeared on her show with her when she was discussing this topic. But, the name of his book was "Blue Genes".Try and find those books to see if they help.

Try heading to and typing in "depression" for the search.

There are 10+ pages of titles, including "How to Win Over Depression" by Tim LaHaye. Put some of the titles into the Amazon search to get reviews.

I can't recommend any personally, but this should give you an idea of what's out there.

Depression in Christians comes from ignoring the Original Kingdom Gospel. Get back to the original Gospel and those kind of problems will just vanish.

C.S. Lewis wrote some books dealing with the topic, especially after his wife died. Check out "The Problem of Pain" and "A Grief Observed."

Edited to Add: I would consider C.S. Lewis to be a great Man of God and he suffered from depression. It is because we are human. It happens and I commend you for tackling it and including a Biblical perspective. There are characters in the Bible who suffered from this as well. In fact, there is a great article in Time magazine this week that shows Mother Theresa dealing with feelings of inadequacy and depression.

Unfortunately the good ol' Christian way of organized religion to dealing with depression is, "Honey, God wouldn't give you the cross if he didn't think you could carry it."

So I wouldn't recommend preaching it Sister.
